Our client -a cafe/restaurant in Willimastownon are on the hunt for a star Sous Chef to join their team. Serving an on-trend, modern Australian menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this busy venue is on its way to becoming one of Melbourne’s best. The fast paced nature of this kitchen means that you will need to have solid experience and confidence in your abilities.

As Sous Chef, you will be assisting the Head Chef in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. This includes running a busy service, ordering and assisting with menu design. You will not be afraid of hard work, and your passion for food will drive you to constantly improve the product offering. Your team will be motivated and encouraged by you, and you will ensure they are given the best opportunities to train and develop

As the successful candidate you will demonstrate:

 

  • Applicable trade qualifications and accreditations
  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef within a fast paced environment
  • A passion for food in line with our client’s vision, and desire to consistently improve
  • Ability to manage ordering, including stock levels, budgets and suppliers
  • Previous experience managing and leading a team, including rostering, wages and training
  • Proficiency in all aspects of food safety, including HACCAP
  • Positive communication skills, energy and attitude
