Sous Chef -Private Members Club – South Yarra

Job Overview

One of Melbourne’s oldest clubs steeped in history are searching for an experienced Sous Chef to join their team. The venue features two bars and a restaurant which serves the club’s members. This venue is also the ideal setting for private functions and has many rooms for their members to choose from.

Under the direction of the Executive Chef, we are seeking an individual who will relish the opportunity to show off their talents as they assist with coaching and mentoring the team. Ideally form a hat restaurant and/or hotel background you will be given the opportunity to develop creative menu ideas and develop your own skills. It is important to note this is a hands on role and the successful candidate will require flexibility that includes evening and weekend work. Reporting to the Executive chef you will be required to help run the day to day operations and manage the kitchen in the absence of the Executive chef.

 

As the successful candidate you will demonstrate:

  • Applicable trade qualifications and accreditations
  • Proven ability to create menu items and recipes
  • A minimum 2 years’ experience as a Sous chef
  • A strong work ethic and a desire to lead and coach
  • Passion for food and the industry
  • A thorough understanding of food safety, including HACCAP
  • Positive communication skills, energy and attitude

  • Salary:$65,000 - $75,000
