Sous Chef Position – Large Hotel/Tavern Style Venue

Job Overview

This Multi-Outlet award winning venue are after an experienced Sous chef or senior chef to join their friendly skilled kitchen team. The establishment consists of various dining experiences, the main restaurant serving a quality all-day menu to the tavern style area dishing rustic gastro pub meals that all the regulars adore. The venue’s location has breathtaking views and positioned right on the waterfront of Labrador overlooking the Spit.

Reporting to the lovely managers and Head chef you will play a key role in ensuring a smooth kitchen operation. You should be capable of managing food costs, stock levels and ordering as required. You should have previous experience with rostering to meet the needs of the business. The team are after a new chef to come in and join their family and help build their already sterling reputation.

As the successful candidate you will demonstrate:

  • Applicable trade qualifications and accreditations
  • Minimum 5 years’ kitchen experience, preferably within a similar environment
  • Ability to plate up high quality, creative food
  • Previous experience managing food costs and ordering
  • Proficiency in all aspects of food safety, including HACCAP
  • Positive communication skills, energy and attitude
