Sous Chef – Corporate Catering Company – North Melbourne

Job Overview

One of Melbourne’s most prestigious corporate and event catering companies is looking for a Sous Chef to assist their Executive Chef with its continued growth. Based in North Melbourne, our client is going from strength to strength by focusing on scene-stealing corporate and drop and go catering packs.  With a large prep kitchen, incorporating state of the art equipment, this company is searching for an accomplished chef with fine dining and catering experience to continue their focus on delivering food worth celebrating in a corporate and private environment. No event is too big or too small for this team, who look after some of Melbourne’s biggest events while also keeping a boutique feel at the heart of everything they do.

 

This role will be focused on supporting the Executive Chef in all facets of the kitchen operation. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, this may include managing the day to day running of the prep kitchen, as well as facilitating off-site catering.  This role is ideal for a Chef who is looking for work-life balance, as the hours of work are predominately Monday to Friday, with weekends dependent on functions.

 

  • Applicable trade qualifications and accreditations
  • Michelin star/Hat restaurant experience
  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef within a similar, catering environment
  • Previous experience and training in pastry
  • Creativity and knowledge of current food trends
  • A passion for food in line with our client’s vision, and desire to consistently improve
  • Ability to manage ordering, including stock levels, budgets and suppliers
  • Proficiency in all aspects of food safety, including HACCAP
  • Experience managing a team, including good leadership skills
  • Positive communication skills, energy and attitude

 

Job Detail
  • Salary:$55,000 - $65,000
