Our client is seeking an experienced Sous Chef for their venue in the trendy Barangaroo area of Sydney. This relaxed modern space sits alongside a unique retail space and offers everything from casual drinks to a full bistro dining experience. With a strong focus on seasonal produce and open breakfast, lunch and dinner this is an exciting opportunity for a passionate chef to take the next step in their career.

As Senior Sous Chef, you will be assisting in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. This includes running a busy service, ordering and assisting with menu design. You will not be afraid of hard work, and your passion for food will drive you to constantly improve the product offering. Your team will be motivated and encouraged by you, and you will ensure they are given the best opportunities to train and develop.

As the successful candidate you will demonstrate:

  • Applicable trade qualifications and accreditations
  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef within a fast-paced environment
  • A passion for food in line with our client’s vision, and desire to consistently improve
  • Ability to manage ordering, including stock levels, budgets and suppliers
  • Previous experience managing and leading a team, including rostering, wages and training
  • Proficiency in all aspects of food safety, including HACCAP
  • Positive communication skills, energy and attitude
