Specialising in modern, Asian-fusion, our client in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD offer a delicious menu, which focuses on shared-style options, this relatively new establishment is looking for a Head Chef who loves the food and culture of South East Asia . The restaurant is set within a magnificently refurbished heritage building with indoor and out door dining. With a large open rooftop terrace and a sexy cocktail list it is on its way to becoming one of Melbourne’s dining hot spots.
With help from the owners in menu design and implementation it is a perfect opportunity to expand your knowledge of this on-trend cuisine. To be considered for this role you will be capable of plating up top quality food and long-term be able to demonstrate your experience in conceptualising and developing menus. This role will also include the training of staff to the high standards required to ensure this fast paced kitchen runs at a smooth pace. You will need to have good communication skills, and be able to work in a team environment.
As the successful candidates you will demonstrate:
- Applicable trade qualifications and accreditations
- Previous experience within a similar environment
- Creativity and knowledge of current food trends
- Positive communication skills, energy and attitude
- Proficiency in all aspects of food safety, including HACCAP
- A passion for food in line with our client’s vision, and desire to consistently improve
