Our client is an iconic pub 24 km north east of Melbourne’s CBD, close enough to the city but far enough away to feel like you are in one of Victoria’s amazing country towns! With over 100 years of history this is the perfect old-fashioned drinking spot and has a legion of loyal customers. With substantial renovations along the way to both the kitchen and public facing bars this large pub boasts a modern menu alongside very well executed pub classics This is great  opportunity for a dedicated head chef looking for a bit more balance in their life as they are offering a 4 day roster and generous remuneration.

As a hands-on Head Chef, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of this busy kitchen, including food cost, ordering and plating up exceptional quality food. Working closely with the Executive chef and General Manager you will lead the highly capable team and will motivate and encourage the kitchen to continually grow and develop their skills and passion for food

As the successful candidate you will demonstrate:

  • Applicable trade qualifications and accreditations
  • Appropriate experience preferably within a fast paced, restaurant environment
  • Ability to plate up high quality, creative food
  • Desire to develop your skills and progress your career
  • Previous experience  managing food costs and ordering,
  • Previous experience leading a team
  • Proficiency in all aspects of food safety, including HACCAP
  • Positive communication skills, energy and attitude
