Based in the South East of Melbourne this unique boutique catering company are looking for a head chef to assist with its continued growth. Our client is going from strength to strength by focusing on scene-stealing hampers and catering packs as well as wholesale delivery to Melbourne’s premier major events. With a modern production kitchen, incorporating state of the art equipment, this company is searching for an accomplished chef with fine dining and catering experience to continue their focus on delivering food worth celebrating.

Reporting directly to the owner the role will include managing the day to day running of the production kitchen as well as facilitating deliveries. In addition, the successful candidate should have an eye for detail and a great understanding of flavors and presentation. This is a rare opportunity for a talented chef to be part of an already successful business and one that offers a work -life balance with no nights and the opportunity for some weekends off!

As the successful candidate you will demonstrate:

  • Applicable trade qualifications and accreditations
  • Previous experience as a head Chef within a similar environment
  • Creativity and knowledge of current food trends
  • A passion for food in line with our client’s vision, and desire to consistently improve
  • Ability to manage ordering, including stock levels, budgets and suppliers
  • Proficiency in all aspects of food safety, including HACCAP
  • Experience managing a team, including good leadership skills
  • Positive communication skills, energy and attitude
