Complete an apprenticeship
Completing an apprenticeship or traineeship is a great way to get your foot in the door. You’ll learn on-the-job skills, and set the foundation for a head chef job in the future.
Once you’ve completed your training, you can start working! Get as much experience as possible and try out all the different stations so you know how a kitchen is run. Work your way up to a Commis Chef role, then a Chef de Partie position, to a Sous Chef role and finally to a head chef job.
